Caring for your VALYOU Couture® Artwear

Every VALYOU Couture® jacket is a hand-painted one-of-a-kind piece and a wearable artwork.

With proper care, your piece will remain in its best possible condition for as long as possible.

Because each jacket is individually painted, it should be treated with the same care and respect as any piece of artwork.

GENTLE CLEANING (RECOMMENDED)

For the best preservation of the artwork we recommend gentle hand washing.

  • Wash the jacket by hand in cold water whenever possible
  • Always turn the jacket inside-out to protect the artwork
  • Use mild, bleach-free detergent only
  • Avoid rubbing or scrubbing painted areas
  • Hang the jacket on a hanger to air dry naturally
  • Do not tumble dry
  • Do not bleach

IF MACHINE WASHING IS UNAVOIDABLE

If machine washing cannot be avoided:

  • Use delicate / gentle cycle only
  • Wash in cold water only
  • Always wash the jacket inside-out
  • Use low spin speed
  • Wash the jacket separately to avoid color transfer

DRYING

  • Do not tumble dry
  • Hang the jacket to dry or lay it flat on a towel
  • Avoid direct sunlight while drying
  • Do not dry on radiators or strong heat sources

IRONING

If ironing is necessary:

  • Always iron the jacket inside-out
  • Never iron directly on the painted artwork
  • Place baking paper or a cotton cloth between the iron and the artwork
  • Use low to medium heat only
  • Do not use steam

ADDITIONAL CARE TIPS

  • Clean small stains with spot cleaning using a damp cloth and mild detergent
  • Avoid strong rubbing on painted areas
  • Minimize heavy friction on the artwork

NATURAL EVOLUTION OF WEARABLE ART

VALYOU Couture® pieces are hand-painted wearable artworks.

Over time the artwork may naturally develop subtle signs of aging through:

  • movement
  • friction
  • washing
  • natural wear

These changes are part of the authentic character and evolution of wearable art and do not represent a product defect.

IMPORTANT CARE RESPONSIBILITY NOTICE

VALYOU Couture® pieces are not industrial mass-produced garments but individually hand-painted artworks.

Minor variations in color, texture, brush strokes or surface are natural characteristics of handcrafted artwear and do not constitute a defect.

Some pieces may also incorporate upcycled garments, meaning slight material variations or traces of previous wear may be part of the artistic concept.

To protect the artwork, gentle cleaning is strongly recommended.

Cleaning methods that differ from the care instructions — including aggressive washing, strong mechanical friction, high heat, tumble drying or improper handling — are performed at the customer's own risk.

VALYOU Couture® cannot assume responsibility for damage or alterations caused by improper care, incorrect washing methods or treatment contrary to these care instructions.

Damage resulting from improper care does not qualify for return, refund or replacement.
